BLL aims to achieve three main goals:
To Enlighten - educating and making our society aware of truthful, positive information about gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites and transgendered people;
To Ensure Human Rights Protection for all - protecting the civil rights for individuals and social groups, including people who are considered part of a sexual minority, as well as, people infected by HIV or AIDS;
To Provide Assistance - organizing and delivering assistance to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transvestite and transgendered people, as well as, people infected with HIV/ AIDS.
BLL will achieve its goal through the following objectives:
Organizing systematic monitoring of the government of Belarus adherence to human rights law and by creating a data bank of human rights violations concerning sexual minorities and people living with HIV/AIDS;
Preparing and distributing accurate reports, research, articles and other information about gays, lesbians and people infected by AIDS;
Organizing and promoting awareness of rights and resources that sexual minorities and people living with HIV/AIDS have including forms of civil activity, organizations, conferences, seminars, publications, lectures;
Supporting the spiritual, emotional and physical development of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites and transgendered people, as well as, people infected by AIDS;
Educating people how to safeguard from acquiring HIV/AIDS;
Cooperating and building coalitions with similar organizations in our country and abroad.
